Et tu Bobby?

Bobby Orr is beloved in Canada. Not just arguably the best player, he did it with a humble flair that Canadians all loved.

My hero took out a front page add in the newspaper trying to get people to vote for Trump. It felt like a body-blow for some reason. Many others in Canada felt it too.

Which is silly because I don't know Bobby Orr. Whatever image or idea I had of Bobby Orr, it would be just that, an idea. A concept in my mind of who he is.

It is also silly because why should it be surprising that another white, rich, 72 year old retired man supports Trump? Trump appeals to this particular demographic for some reason.

Nevertheless, it hurt.

It hurts because I struggle to understand how anyone is fooled by Trump because he is so transparent. His former chief-of-staff, retired marine general John Kelly perhaps said it best, "He is the most flawed man I've ever met"

In contrast, the more I get to know Joe Biden, the more I love this man. He appears to be a beautiful person who really has good intentions to serve his country. Two old white men asking for your vote to lead your country. The choice in character could not have been more different. One person seems to be an empath who genuinely seems to care about the welfare of others. The other....just the opposite.

Today I saw Trump throw democracy under the bus rather than accept possible defeat in a fair and free election. His rhetoric and unfounded conspiracies will cause more chaos, violence, separation, and undermine democracy. He built this fire and now he is lighting it. Most of us can see that he is simply not capable of accepting defeat. That he will never concede. His ego won't allow it. He would rather see things burn than walk away peacefully. Many are deeply saddened by his actions but no one is surprised because he promised he would do this.

This is your man Bobby? You want four more years of this guy? You don't want him and his family to get in their clown car and disappear?

Fortunately for me, the truth is becoming clearer. The truth prevents me from truly suffering.

In wisdom, I understand that its not really, Scott asking Bobby, WTF? In truth, I can see clearly that it is only ever Consciousness asking Consciousness, "How do things look from that particular body-mind?"

Well, from that particular body-mind, I suppose "4 more years of Trump looks pretty good. He is putting America first and he loves this country. He's my kind of guy"

This is wisdom because I know that Consciousness is playing all of the parts.

Once we believe we are these body-minds, we are plugged into the Matrix so to speak. We are not choosing anything. We don't choose our thoughts. Thoughts are like waves appearing in an ocean of Consciousness. If we don't control our thoughts, we don't control our actions. I have no more control over my fears and desires as I can control the weather. Neither can Bobby. There is never anyone to blame.

Whatever model of reality you wish to believe everything is connected. As Adyashanti said as a way to describe this phenomenal world, "It is emptiness dancing." And for a moment in time, no one danced on the ice better than #4.

Thank you so much for this beautiful way of looking at it. All the tension of this week suddenly relaxed, at least momentarily!
