Where do mind and matter meet? This is a wonderful contemplation that can lead to an experiential understanding of the truth.

The human experience is comprised of two realms; mind and matter. Inside and outside. The thought is made of inside stuff (mind) and the cup is made of outside stuff (matter). At least this is how most people perceive the world. Duality.

For example, I can see my coffee cup (matter). I can also have a thought about my coffee cup (mind). There is an obvious connection between these two different realms because I can have a thought to pick up my cup. There is a connection. But how do they connect?

The thought of a cup could never appear beside the cup. Imagine putting a thought on the coffee table next to the cup. It is obviously impossible. (This is as silly as imagining the letter K appearing somewhere inside my head, however, this is our belief system)

It is impossible for the thought to appear on the coffee table because the world is not our shared reality (although this our deeply rooted belief). Like the cup, the world is an appearance / perception. The cup and the thought are both appearing in the one Reality that is perceiving both.

Understanding that mind and matter can only be connected by a greater shared Reality is a powerful pathway that leads to an experiential understanding of the truth.

To understand this fully and completely we need to learn to discriminate our experience and see clearly that all perceptions are appearing and disappearing in the same space...in the same substance....in the same Reality.

To understand this fully and completely we need to understand the concept of Reality.

To understand this fully and completely we need to understand that Consciousness is Real.

There is nothing but Consciousness. In other words, in Reality, in understanding, we only ever experience Consciousness. "There is no Spoon." Only Consciousness.

In other words, this current experience you are having right now is Reality experiencing itself in one of two possible ways: Either knowingly as itself or in ignorance as a separate entity. Ignorance is the dream of separation. Experience is never personal.

The truth is about understanding, and this understanding takes time. I don't know why it takes so long. It just does.

The more and more we understand that Consciousness is Real, the more time we will choose to abide there. As this understanding that Consciousness is Real continues to deepen, the happenings in the world, similar to the happenings in a dream, will inevitably become more and more insignificant.
