Yesterday, Samoan and I, were again discussing the possibility of reincarnation.

Apparently, there was a person that, while being hypnotized, was able to recall specific details of an experience during Napoleon times (or something like that). Neither one of us doubt that it happened.

This story was a sticking point for my friend, which I can understand. How is that story possible if not for reincarnation?

The sticking point is based on the assumption that the current paradigm is true. Assuming that all of our beliefs are true, I would agree that reincarnation is the most likely explanation.

However, we already know that there are some serious flaws with the current paradigm. Bernardo Kastrup's purpose in life seems to be about scientifically exposing the errors of the current paradigm to the best of his abilities, (to anyone that will listen).

The first assumption is that Consciousness is localized and that each person is their own independent separate Being/Reality. This is a deeply rooted belief that needs to be investigated.

Is it possible that a limited and localized Consciousness is just a thought that is believed to be true? Of course most of us don't see this as a real question and go straight into assuming that it is an unassailable fact. Just getting a person to seriously question this belief is a huge step.

The second assumption is that Time is fundamental. Our culture's concept of time is that it is independent of space, but this is absolutely proven not to be true. Therefore, our concept of time is incorrect. That is not a little thing.

Time is a man made invention and it is not something that is ever experienced. Similarly, the same could be said of temperature. I am not a scientist but apparently neither exist at the microscopic level. They are units of measurement used at our human scale. Further, I've never experienced the past or the future. It's always now. (It is important to note that now is not defined as a zero duration interval between the past and the future. It is the eternal now beyond time.)

So let's reexamine our question with a different set of assumptions. What if Consciousness is Universal and time doesn't exist?

If Consciousness is Universal then there is only one experiencer. Therefore, my Being and your Being and Napoleon's Being is the Same. The same Being that is seeing through your eyes, is hearing through my ears. One Being. One Reality. We don't need to have a metaphysical model to explain it. It is incredibly simple.

Time is more difficult for our limited minds to understand, since our minds are always in time. But if it's true that there is no time, then whatever happened in the Napoleonic era is happing now. Our true Self is never in time. In other words, We are never in time....we just believe that we are. Again, it is a thought that is believed to be true.

In my experience, it is always the same here, and always the same now. So perhaps here is not a place in space, and perhaps now is not a point in time.

So when we ask ourselves how could someone experience an event that apparently happened 800 years ago, we don't need reincarnation theory to explain it. Why? Because from the perspective of the absolute, it didn't happen 800 years ago, it is happening now. And if Consciousness is Universal, then it is always the same "I" having the experience. (We must be careful to remember that which is perceived is never the perceiver/experiencer).

The real hypnotist is the one that makes the dream of separation possible. The real illusion always belongs to Consciousness. It tricks itself into believing that it has a temporary existence in time, appearing somewhere in the world.

But it's not true. It's never true. We always have the opportunity and the ability to see for ourselves that the world is always appearing in me.

"There is Awareness. I am Awareness. The world that appears, appears in me"
